Duba Club - Al Ansar 72-82 No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Al Ansar (8-8) beat 11th ranked Duba Club (2-14) in Tabuk 82-72 on Monday. Al Ansar dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Duba Club's 38. The winners were led by American-Armenian center Todd OBrien (211-89, college: UAB) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Maher Hawsawi (-89) supported him with 25 points. Al Hilal looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Khalid Abdel-Gabar (188-90, college: Windsor) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) and American power forward Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) who added 18 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international forward Nassir Abojalas (196-94) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Shane Rector (188-94, college: Utah St.) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Nasr have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 14-2 record behind leader Al Hilal. Ohod at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Al Ittihad made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: UMass) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Tunisian point guard Omar Abada (189-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds, 16 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Al Ittihad players scored in double figures. Al Ittihad's coach Mohamed Kardani felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jordan Washington (203-93, college: Iona, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and the former international Ali Shubayli (190-96) added 25 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Al Ahly. Al Ittihad (13-3) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Al Ahly at the other side dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Al Ittihad are looking forward to face Al Nahda (#10) in Al Khobar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al Ahly will play on the road against the league's second-placed Al Nasr in Riyadh and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident. Al Wehda looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The winners were led by international center Thamer Mohammed (-97) who scored that evening 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Egyptian guard Ramy Gunday (185-81) supported him with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
